Style Theory: On the Spring/Summer 2015 catwalks, Burberry Prorsum, Acne and Michael Kors to name but a few championed this sunny hue. From amber to saffron to gold to lemon, there is a shade to suit everyone and every skin tone, it is just a matter of trying on and you will find your perfect piece of sunshine clothing.
I love a touch of mustardy yellow, it does not necessarily complement my skin tone but with a little help from some fake tan I can just about get away with it. This Zara yellow coat has brightened up the last few cold, rainy months and now fits perfectly with sunny days...

My newest yellow purchase is this yellow top from H&M I featured in my last post. I spotted it on the utterly cool Pandora Sykes, she styled it with some little denim shorts and Chloe sandals, as I am probably double her age and no where near as cool, I styled it with my jeans and new mango sandals with a little touch of leopard thrown in...

A big, blouson-y sunshine top to match the sunny day (although in these photos it doesn't look it!) I could sail away with the arms on it, but it is the kind of top that is fabulous to throw on on holidays in the evening with a pair of shorts for a stroll down to dinner. Super easy to wear, non clingy and a gorgeous colour..
*In this month's Elle (May 2015) they have a 20% off H&M card (to be used in store only) they have some fab summer pieces in their this season so it worth having a look..
Are you a fan of yellow or do you steer clear? Have you been seduced by all the gorgeous mustard and lemony colours available on the high street this season?
As always I would love to hear your thought and comments, until next time, Frances xxx
Yellow is one of my favourite colours actually when I want to do colour. I wore it today actually but alas no pictorial evidence! And you are too cool - with your cropped kick flares - I'm being a bit lazy at the moment so I haven't got round to chopping mine yet - but it won't be long now!
ReplyDeleteBet you look fab in yellow Sue. Must admit my jeans were cut very hastily and are slightly uneven but speed was of the essence ;-) , I am sure you will make a much better job of it! xx
DeleteOh goodness, if you're not cool then there's no hope for me! I adore the H&M top...could you advise about sizing? I'm tempted to size down as it looks like it has a lot of material but I thought I would check. Thank you x
ReplyDeleteAh thanks, but really not exactly the coolest mum on the block! Yes, I sized down one size (I bought an 8) it is quite short but not too bad on shorties like me, best with slightly high waisted jeans. Let me know what you think of it when you get it, it really is a cute little top! xx
DeleteI have the mango sandals too- they're great aren't they?
ReplyDeleteThey are amazing and what a fab price, I bet we will get so much wear out of them xx
DeleteLove this look, yellow, leopard, kick flares. Am off to try this top asap! Ps it looks very cool. I'm so tired of seeing cool looks on people half my age, it is lovely to see this on someone 'my age' . ( I'm pretty sure you're about five years younger than me but I'm not counting that!)
ReplyDeleteThanks so so much, no doubt we are the same age, hope you like the top too, let me know what you think xx
DeleteI absolutely adore yellow - of any shade! I love your coat so much
ReplyDeleteOoo yes Fiona you do suit yellow, looks gorge on you xx
DeleteI don't own anything yellow, I don't think I suit it, I am never drawn to it for myself, but like it on the kids. You really, really suit yellow, that H&M top looks fab on you, I love how you have styled it with your DIY jeans, very stylish! Xx
ReplyDeleteThanks so much AnnMarie xxx
DeleteBoth your coat and the H&M top look amazing on you Frances but sadly I don't think yellow does anything for me :0( The shape of the H&M top is so pretty.....love how you've styled it! xx
ReplyDeleteThanks so much Michelle x
DeleteIt's such a lovely top and I was tempted when you posted it on Insta I think but won't be able to pull it off half as well as you x
ReplyDeleteYou sooo would Donna, I think it will be one of those really easy tops to wear on holiday x
DeleteYou look fab in yellow, I keep seeing your insta pics & smiling. I love yellow & have a lot of items in various shades.

ReplyDeleteThanks Helen, yes H&M are looking pretty good at the moment I am pretty excited about the concious collection coming soon! xx
DeleteI'm a huge fan of mustard though I tend to wear it more in autumn. You look fabulous in it, Frances. I love the coat so much! Lynne xx
ReplyDeleteOoo I do love a touch of mustard too Lynne, you always wear it so well xx
DeleteAbsolutely gorgeous. Am inspired by your cut off jeans as well. I have to be very careful about what yellow I wear as it makes me look sallow. Love it tho!
ReplyDeleteCathy
Thanks so much Cathy, you look fab in your gorgeous yellow scarves xx
DeleteI have one yellow item in my wardrobe - a scarf that i fell for in Zara, but I'm always at a bit of a loss as to what to wear it with. It's not the best colour for me, but I do love the way it brightens up a dull day. So lovely to see you in the H&M blouse, it really suits you and the shape is so fabulously over the top. You have styled it perfectly! xx
ReplyDeleteThanks so much Becky, at the moment I do love a touch of clashing it all up so am mixing yellows, navys and oranges! xx
DeleteYou look gorgeous in the yellow. That hue is so pretty. I love wearing yellow, and have even written my style me sunday post this week about yellow.
ReplyDeleteI love yellow but it just doesn't suit me. It looks great on you Frances. I love that H&M top & saw it in their last look book too. You've styled it perfectly! x
