The Cool Side of Geox...

Style Theory: Geox shoes comfy, breathable and perhaps reserved for the older lady..or so I thought until I set eyes on the AW15 collection at a fashion show. I was literally stopped in my tracks when browsing around the fashion stands by the fabulous Patrick Cox for Geox trainer for AW15 (not available as yet) It was all bells and whistles but I absolutely loved it!

It made me take a closer look at the Geox collection for this season and I was impressed. As I spend most of my life in trainers and am completely untrained in the art of walking in heels, I need heels that look good, are comfortable and have decent soles on them, therefore avoiding that awkward moment when I skid metres across a room on the edge of my heel (I have been known to do this fairly regularly) And GEOX heels tick all these boxes.
There are so many GEOX shoes that fit the bill, elegant, comfortable and in beautiful, soft leather..here is my selection of the ones I have my eye on...
Ivana Sandal £120
True statement sandals with a comfortable footbed (always GEOX breathable techonlogy so non-sweaty) and a platform at the front taking the height off the heel. I have these shoes on order and I will style them similarly to the photo below for evenings out, I also have a wedding this summer and they will be perfect to wear all day..

Loving the idea of wearing heels with my black dungarees making the dungerees look slightly more grown up.
Heritage £110
Perfect for working this season's 70s trend in comfort, this nubuck platform sandal will look fab with denim flares, or wear with a denim dress, or skinny jeans and a boho top.

As always Kate Moss styled flares perfectly a few years ago. I love the paler colour of flares and the shoes above would look fab with this colour of denim and a matching belt and keep the top simple, even a grey sweater would look fab.

Donyale £100
Beautiful, delicate and sophisticated these shoes are the perfect height and a beautiful neutral colour (also comes in black and white) Wear them with a floaty white dress in the summer, or wear with with skinny ankle length blue jeans and a blue chambray/denim shirt for a cool twist.

For those days when you are out sans les enfants, you can rock a chic, elegant look!
Mariele £95
A fabulous wardrobe basic, the black court shoe. It goes without saying this can be worn year after year with all styles of clothing and perfect for work. Wear with black opaque tights and dresses in the winter, in the summer wear with black skinny ankle length jeans and a black top with a leopard print bag for a sleek look.

The pointed pump, a classic style with a colour twist, I love the orange and beige colour of this shoe, they would look perfect with khaki chinos, skinny jeans and a white shirt (see outfit below..perfection)
Leslie £105

I love everything about this look and now am slightly obsessed with the bag too, all looks so fabulous and cool in an elegant way.

New Club £70
Cool, metallic, slip ons in gold and silver made of the softest leather with waterproof soles..everything my past synthetic slip ons have not been! These are now a classic and will work so well as a casual shoe through the summer and into the Autumn. These are breathable so again, non-sweaty which is fab for a closed-in trainer like this as they do tend to make your feet hot. These would look chic on when you are off to the airport for your summer holidays!

This would make a perfect outfit with a pair of silver slip ons, add a touch of colour with bright bag.

There are so many other cool trainer styles, both lo and hi tops and some fab wedge trainers if you still require a little height when wearing sneakers...

There also have a lovely kids range that you are probably more familiar with, I saw a cute pair of boy's leather slip on shoes in store (very Scott Disick for anyone that watches Keeping Up with the Kardashians - yes I am sad and do watch it) but I cannot find them online. Here's my fave little trainers online, definitely pricey but I always end up buying my kids clarks trainers as they fit them better so these are about the same price..

For my little girl who loves trainers and whose first pair were GEOX, I love these..
Tale £45
For my 4 year old boy, these would be a fab pair of vans style trainers that won't make his feet too hot..
Kiwi £40
So there you go, I was certainly surprised with what GEOX have to offer, are you? Do you buy them or were you like me and thought they were for the older lady (admittedly they still have a fair few styles that are!)

If you around this Wednesday (1st April..and no, this is not an April fool!) and fancy escaping the kids or just having a little mooch around an Exclusive shopping Event with a prosecco in hand, please come join me at Peter Jones, Sloane Sq, London (I'll be in the women's shoe department) I will be giving two lucky SchoolRunStyle readers a free pair of Geox shoes. Hope to see you on Wednesday (if you are in the London area) As always I would love to hear your thoughts and comments, what do you think of the selection, any of them catch your eye?

25% Off Boden This Weekend..The Best Bits

Style Theory: 25% off Boden until Monday 30th with free delivery and returns (with code EGGS) always a great time to get a few key items that will work as excellent basics for your summer wardrobe, also a few extra special accessories that will add a wow factor to an outfit.

So first the items that have caught my eye this season and ideas of how to style them...

The Chic, Useful Cardigan
Boden Favourite Cardigan £36.75 (25% off)
A versatile piece, can be thrown over a white t-shirt, denim shorts and strappy tan sandals. With a maxi dress or in the summer with white top and jeans. Here are a few ideas...

The Cashmere Sweater

Cashmere Crew Neck Navy £74.25 (25% off)
I have a navy cashmere sweater and it is one of the most luxurious, most worn items in my wardrobe. Boden cashmere is fabulously soft and machine washable. I wear mine with distressed jeans and heels (with my Boden Alice heels as they have navy in them- great for a dressed down/dressed up look) and a bright coat. I also like to wear with t-shirt underneath and denim shorts and sandals, keeps me just the right temperature on warmer UK days.

The Grey Merino Sweater
Merino Wool Sweater £17.70
Was tipped off by Natalie from GlamRosie about this jumper and what a bargain, in fact I was so excited I have just ordered myself one to fill a little gap in my wardrobe. This is again, such a useful hardworking piece in your wardrobe, from wearing it with jeans to denim skirts to full on patterned midi skirts this is a must have item.

The Breton

Long Sleeve Breton £18.75 (25% off)
I have had two of these Boden bretons for a few years, they wash well and keep their shape and colour. A wardrobe staple, can be worn year after year after year..

The Denim/Chambray Dress
April Tunic Dress £55.30
A really useful price, wear with black opaque tights and black shoes boots in the colder, spring days. In the summer pair with white/silver Superga's for a laid back, comfortable look.

The Summer Event Dress
Long Sleeve Selina Dress £104.25 (25% off)

I love the print of this dress, it reminds me a little of the D&G dress Keira Knightley wore (see below). I would add some a little colour to this with a pair of pale (or even bright) pink shoes and some matching lipstick for a fabulous wedding guest outfit.

The Killer Accessories
Alice Mid Heels £89.25 (25% Off)
The heel of the season, bright, fun chic and really wearable. I have worn mine loads, they can be matched and clashed with so many outfits. Dress them up, dress them down you will wear them non-stop.
Lille Lace-Ups £66.75
The lace up shoe is a key look for Spring Summer 15, these are stunning versions and with 25% off more affordable.

Definitely worth having a little browse if you are in summer clothes shopping mode. The Alice shoes have a couple of weeks wait for delivery but they will still be the 25% off price if bought today or tomorrow. Right I am off to order a few items..

Are you a Boden basics fan, how do you find their clothing? I have got to admit I always have to have a bit of a search through as lots of it is not my style but I do love the styles above and I always buy my kids a few items (on the 25% off days) for each season as I do find the kids clothes really last and my two wear their Boden outfits loads.

I would love to hear your thoughts and comments, until next time Frances xx

*this was not a sponsored post I just thought the 25% off made the items I have been looking at over the last few months a little more affordable!

Summer Sandals - the cream of the crop

Style Theory: Flat sandals, your summer holiday 'must haves', this year it is all about straps and ties and the high street have come up trumps. With the boho trend eclipsing all other trends this year sandals are laid back, flat, true boho chic. So whether it is tan, black or jewelled just make sure your sandals are strappy..

Here is a little outfit inspiration:

As you can see this style of sandal is incredibly versatile and whilst being practical looks effortlessly chic. Pair with maxi dresses, dungarees, summer dresses and denim...every which way these work..

Here are the best strappy sandals on the High Street now:

Starting with Office that seem to have a fab range of strappy sandals at the moment AND Grazia have 25% off Office this week so worth buying them now..
Office Oakley Strappy Mule Sandal £35
I tried these on they are super comfy, the leather is really soft, great little holiday sandals with a pair of cut off denim shorts and white boho top (they also look fab in gold here)
Office Odessa Lace Front Sandal £38
The gladiator style sandals are a big trend again this year, these would look lovely with ankle length blue jeans and a crisp white shirt.
Office Oscar Cut Out Low Wedge £42
I love an ankle strap and a slight wedge, the small amount of height is really flattering on legs and makes them look slimmer.
Office Olivier Low Wedge £45
Great little basic sandal, the mix of tan and gold is beautiful, the best of both worlds.

Now onto Next who have the most fabulous shoes this Spring Summer..
Next Strippy Ankle Wrap Sandals £30
Leather straps, tie ankle and only £30..will look amazing with a long black, floaty maxi dress (chloe style) and fine gold jewellery.
Next Lace Up Sandals £24
These are also leather and come in a beautiful tan colour too.
Tan Lace Up Sandals £38
Not flat but not too high either, these are fabulously Chloe-esque and completely gorgeous..I will track them down to see what they are like on. Not leather uppers but for that price and such cool styling I think they are fab.

The best of the rest..
Topshop Fig Lace Up Sandals £39
These also come in black a fab gladiator/lace up hybrid.
KG Kazoo Black Sandal £85
A little more glamorous with gold details and a slight wedge heel, these look even better in 'real life'.

These are one of my favourites and at such an amazing price, I have bought these for the summer, they come up slightly big (half a size so if in between sizes size down) and are quite a slim fit. They also come in tan and snakeskin, all are fabulous but I plumped for the black as I think they will look good with my off the shoulder, black Other Stories dress from last year.

There are so many stunning sandals to chose from this year..so much better than last year, I think I may have to buy a couple of pairs..

My Style:

For a day out with the family, you just never know how warm or cold it is going to be at the moment (normally colder than you think) so I have taken layering to the extreme..

For a meeting about an upcoming project, I wore my Levis 501CT jeans. I have definitely renewed my love for 501s after a 20 year break. And of course the Boden shoes are fab, now I have got used to walking in them..

Are you starting to think Summer clothes yet or am I completely jumping the gun by looking at sandals? I have heard that April will be warm so you never know..fingers crossed!
As always I would love to hear your thoughts and comments, until next time Frances x
