Mellow Yellow

Style Theory: On the Spring/Summer 2015 catwalks, Burberry Prorsum, Acne and Michael Kors to name but a few championed this sunny hue. From amber to saffron to gold to lemon, there is a shade to suit everyone and every skin tone, it is just a matter of trying on and you will find your perfect piece of sunshine clothing.

I love a touch of mustardy yellow, it does not necessarily complement my skin tone but with a little help from some fake tan I can just about get away with it. This Zara yellow coat has brightened up the last few cold, rainy months and now fits perfectly with sunny days...

Dungarees - H&M similar here
Scarf - Uniqlo similar here
Trainers - Stan Smith £67
Bag - H&M £19.99

My newest yellow purchase is this yellow top from H&M I featured in my last post. I spotted it on the utterly cool Pandora Sykes, she styled it with some little denim shorts and Chloe sandals, as I am probably double her age and no where near as cool, I styled it with my jeans and new mango sandals with a little touch of leopard thrown in...
Top - H&M £29.99
Jeans - Asos £35 (I have chopped the bottom off these to make them ankle kick flares)
Sandals - Mango £19.99
Bag - &Other Stories similar here

A big, blouson-y sunshine top to match the sunny day (although in these photos it doesn't look it!) I could sail away with the arms on it, but it is the kind of top that is fabulous to throw on on holidays in the evening with a pair of shorts for a stroll down to dinner. Super easy to wear, non clingy and a gorgeous colour..

*In this month's Elle (May 2015) they have a 20% off H&M card (to be used in store only) they have some fab summer pieces in their this season so it worth having a look..

Are you a fan of yellow or do you steer clear? Have you been seduced by all the gorgeous mustard and lemony colours available on the high street this season?

As always I would love to hear your thought and comments, until next time, Frances xxx

The Cool Side of Geox...

Style Theory: Geox shoes comfy, breathable and perhaps reserved for the older lady..or so I thought until I set eyes on the AW15 collection at a fashion show. I was literally stopped in my tracks when browsing around the fashion stands by the fabulous Patrick Cox for Geox trainer for AW15 (not available as yet) It was all bells and whistles but I absolutely loved it!

It made me take a closer look at the Geox collection for this season and I was impressed. As I spend most of my life in trainers and am completely untrained in the art of walking in heels, I need heels that look good, are comfortable and have decent soles on them, therefore avoiding that awkward moment when I skid metres across a room on the edge of my heel (I have been known to do this fairly regularly) And GEOX heels tick all these boxes.
There are so many GEOX shoes that fit the bill, elegant, comfortable and in beautiful, soft leather..here is my selection of the ones I have my eye on...
Ivana Sandal £120
True statement sandals with a comfortable footbed (always GEOX breathable techonlogy so non-sweaty) and a platform at the front taking the height off the heel. I have these shoes on order and I will style them similarly to the photo below for evenings out, I also have a wedding this summer and they will be perfect to wear all day..

Loving the idea of wearing heels with my black dungarees making the dungerees look slightly more grown up.
Heritage £110
Perfect for working this season's 70s trend in comfort, this nubuck platform sandal will look fab with denim flares, or wear with a denim dress, or skinny jeans and a boho top.

As always Kate Moss styled flares perfectly a few years ago. I love the paler colour of flares and the shoes above would look fab with this colour of denim and a matching belt and keep the top simple, even a grey sweater would look fab.

Donyale £100
Beautiful, delicate and sophisticated these shoes are the perfect height and a beautiful neutral colour (also comes in black and white) Wear them with a floaty white dress in the summer, or wear with with skinny ankle length blue jeans and a blue chambray/denim shirt for a cool twist.

For those days when you are out sans les enfants, you can rock a chic, elegant look!
Mariele £95
A fabulous wardrobe basic, the black court shoe. It goes without saying this can be worn year after year with all styles of clothing and perfect for work. Wear with black opaque tights and dresses in the winter, in the summer wear with black skinny ankle length jeans and a black top with a leopard print bag for a sleek look.

The pointed pump, a classic style with a colour twist, I love the orange and beige colour of this shoe, they would look perfect with khaki chinos, skinny jeans and a white shirt (see outfit below..perfection)
Leslie £105

I love everything about this look and now am slightly obsessed with the bag too, all looks so fabulous and cool in an elegant way.

New Club £70
Cool, metallic, slip ons in gold and silver made of the softest leather with waterproof soles..everything my past synthetic slip ons have not been! These are now a classic and will work so well as a casual shoe through the summer and into the Autumn. These are breathable so again, non-sweaty which is fab for a closed-in trainer like this as they do tend to make your feet hot. These would look chic on when you are off to the airport for your summer holidays!

This would make a perfect outfit with a pair of silver slip ons, add a touch of colour with bright bag.

There are so many other cool trainer styles, both lo and hi tops and some fab wedge trainers if you still require a little height when wearing sneakers...

There also have a lovely kids range that you are probably more familiar with, I saw a cute pair of boy's leather slip on shoes in store (very Scott Disick for anyone that watches Keeping Up with the Kardashians - yes I am sad and do watch it) but I cannot find them online. Here's my fave little trainers online, definitely pricey but I always end up buying my kids clarks trainers as they fit them better so these are about the same price..

For my little girl who loves trainers and whose first pair were GEOX, I love these..
Tale £45
For my 4 year old boy, these would be a fab pair of vans style trainers that won't make his feet too hot..
Kiwi £40
So there you go, I was certainly surprised with what GEOX have to offer, are you? Do you buy them or were you like me and thought they were for the older lady (admittedly they still have a fair few styles that are!)

If you around this Wednesday (1st April..and no, this is not an April fool!) and fancy escaping the kids or just having a little mooch around an Exclusive shopping Event with a prosecco in hand, please come join me at Peter Jones, Sloane Sq, London (I'll be in the women's shoe department) I will be giving two lucky SchoolRunStyle readers a free pair of Geox shoes. Peter Jones will have fab trend displays, makeovers and free giveaways throughout the store, I would love for you to join me...

Hope to see you on Wednesday (if you are in the London area) As always I would love to hear your thoughts and comments, what do you think of the selection, any of them catch your eye?
See you soon, Frances xxx

This post was written in collaboration with GEOX but all views and opinions are entirely my own.
